<p>Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps for the release of Malayali nurse Nimisha Priya facing death sentence in Yemen.</p><p>In a letter sent to the Prime Minister on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that it was learnt from the media that the execution of Nimisha Priya was fixed for July 16. </p><p>"Considering the fact that this is a case deserving sympathy, I appeal to the Prime Minister to take up the matter and intervene with the authorities concerned to save Nimisha Priya's life," Vijayan said.</p> .<p>Kerala government's representative in Delhi and former union minister K V Thomas had also sent a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention.</p><p>Priya, 37, hailing from Palakkad district, is facing death row on charges of murdering her Yemeni business partner Talal Abdu Mahdi following a dispute in 2017.</p>
