Pinarayi expresses solidarity with Stalin's JAC meeting to oppose delimitation

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed solidarity with the joint action committee (JAC) meeting convened by his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin to oppose the delimitation process of the centre.

Tamil Nadu IT minister P Thiaga Rajan and South Chennai MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian called on Vijayan on Friday and invited him to the JAC to be held in Chennai on March 22.

"Stand in solidarity on this pressing issue," Vijayan tweeted sharing the picture of the Tamil Nadu minister presenting a biography of Stalin to him.

The Tamil Nadu delegation also called on leaders of various political parties including CPM state secretary M V Govindan and CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam. The delegation is also meeting leaders of other regional parties in Kerala and inviting them to the JAC meeting.

Rajan said that all the leaders they met had shared their serious concerns over the delimitation and stressed the need to ensure due representation of all states in the Parliament. Tamil Nadu's firm stand on the issue was also communicated to the leaders on behalf of Stalin, he said.

Many states had already conveyed their willingness to participate in the March 22 JAC meeting.
