<p>In a worrying trend, Covid-19 deaths in Maharashtra increased with three-figure casualty numbers for seven days in a row.</p>.<p>On Wednesday, Maharashtra recorded 227 deaths, first time the state crossed the 200-mark since October, 2020.</p>.<p>The dates/deaths were March 25 (111), March 26 (112), March 27 (166), March 28 (108), March 29 (102), March 30 (139) and March 31 (227).</p>.<p>The case fatality rate in the state is 1.94 per cent.</p>.<p>Meanwhile, after a drop in cases for couple of days, the 24-hour cases in Maharashtra went up to 39,544 on Wednesday.</p>.<p>On Monday and Tuesday, the state recorded 31,643 and 27,918 cases, respectively.</p>.<p>The progressive total cases and deaths now stand at 28,12,980 and 54,649, respectively.</p>.<p>During the last 24 hours, Mumbai recorded 5,399 cases and 15 deaths, while the larger Mumbai metropolitan region reported 9,941 cases and 33 deaths.</p>.<p>The total active cases in the state now stand at 3,56,243.</p>.<p>During the day, 23,600 patients were discharged, taking the total recovered patients to 24,00,727.</p>
