<p>Mumabi: Amid strong reactions and criticism across Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar , who is the NCP National President, on Monday asked the party’s youth wing chief Suraj Chavan to resign from the post a day after NCP workers clashed with members of Chhava Sanghatna.</p><p>The incident took place on Sunday in Latur after Chhava Sangathana workers led by their leader Vijay Ghatge confronted Maharashtra NCP unit president and Raigad MP Sunil Tatkare and hurled a deck of playing cards over a video of state Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokae playing Junglee Rummy, an online card game, inside legislature, went viral on social media platforms. </p> .<p>Thereafter, NCP workers beat up activists of Chhava Sanghatna.</p><p>Chavan was allegedly involved in the attack.</p><p>"In the backdrop of an extremely serious and condemnable incident that occurred in Latur yesterday, I have given clear instructions to Suraj Chavan, the state president of the Nationalist Youth Congress, to immediately resign from his post,” Pawar posted on X.</p><p>Chavan too tendered an apology.</p>
