<p>Mumbai: Amid the India-Pakistan tensions, the iconic Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Mumbai handled a surge of flights because of the closure of Pakistani airspace, rerouting of international flights and effect on domestic services because of temporary shutting down of 32 airports across northern and north-western regions of India.</p><p>A critical aviation hub, the Mumbai airport handles over 950 daily flight movements.</p><p>The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai congratulated the Mumbai ATC.</p><p>“Amidst the current situation leading to a surge in air traffic over Mumbai, we express our sincere gratitude to the dedicated team at ATC of the Mumbai airport for their unwavering commitment and precision in managing the air traffic smoothly,” the CSMIA said noting that for the Mumbai airport maintaining safe airspace operations and uninterrupted connectivity across the globe.</p>.Pakistan known to conduct proxy wars as it cannot win wars against India: Fadnavis .<p>Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis too congratulated the Mumbai ATC.</p><p>“That’s the spirit of Mumbai, even in the sky. Keep it up,” he said.</p><p>Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said in moments of challenge, Mumbai ATC rose with quiet excellence. “Amid unprecedented rerouting due to regional airspace constraints, our Mumbai Air Traffic Controllers continued operation of commercial air traffic at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and have been managing 400-450 additional flights daily, on top of their regular load with utmost precision and calm,” he said.</p>
