<p>Mumbai: In a sensational claim, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said that Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray bowed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi seeking relief from the probe by central agencies against his party colleagues and expressed desire to form goverment with the BJP in Maharashtra.</p><p>However, on his return to Mumbai, he took U-turn, said Shinde, who in June 2022 had toppled the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government which comprises of undivided Shiv Sena, undivided NCP and Congress.</p><p>Shinde, who is now the chief leader of Shiv Sena, however, did not specify when exactly the meeting took place.</p><p>Speaking on the Legislative Council, Shinde accused Thackeray of double standards.</p><p>"(Late Shiv Sena founder) Balasaheb Thackeray always kept the Congress at bay, yet Uddhav Thackeray shamelessly joined hands with them for power," Shinde said.</p>.Those glorifying Aurangzeb are 'traitors': Eknath Shinde.<p>He further claimed that his group had reclaimed the “bow and arrow” symbol, which, according to him, had been “mortgaged” to the Congress and the MVA government. </p><p>“Since you have embraced the ideology of Aurangzeb, you have no moral right to speak about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” he said, targeting the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT).</p><p>Reaffirming his commitment to the people, Shinde declared, “We have never been tempted by power or position. Our priority has always been the welfare of the people.” He also alleged that during the MVA regime, there was a conspiracy to imprison BJP leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, Girish Mahajan, Ashish Shelar, and Pravin Darekar. “However, we foiled their plans, overthrew the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, and established the Mahayuti government through our rebellion,” he asserted.</p><p>Snubbing Shinde, Thackeray said: "When we went to meet Narendra Modi.... Shinde was in his dustbin, and we didn’t even know it." </p>
