<p>Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/tamil-nadu/dmks-dilemma-support-a-tamil-vp-nominee-cp-radhakrishnan-or-stand-by-ideology-3684920">BJP-led NDA’s nominee</a> for Vice President of India, left for New Delhi on Monday to hold discussions with the party’s central leadership. Leaders of the ruling Mahayuti alliance extended their wishes before his departure.</p><p>The 68-year-old politician from Tamil Nadu, with an RSS background, has maintained a low profile since taking charge as Maharashtra Governor on 31 July 2024.</p><p>At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, Radhakrishnan was seen off by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar.</p><p>On Sunday, Fadnavis visited Raj Bhavan after returning from Kolhapur to felicitate Radhakrishnan. “Congratulations to Radhakrishnan on being chosen as the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate. Through his tenure as MP and Governor across states, he has gained wide experience in legislative and constitutional matters. As part of the NDA alliance, Shiv Sena extends full support. His experience as Maharashtra Governor will benefit the country.”</p><p>Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar said: “Congratulations to Radhakrishnan on being nominated as NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate.
