'Patients were admitted late'

Munirathnam P was already suffering from chronic liver problem and was admitted to St Philomena’s Hospital on August 22 due to fever, cough and diarrhoea.

Hospital medical superintendent said the patient was never put on ventilator. “More than H1N1 infection, Munirathnam’s liver problem was more serious”, he said.  He succumbed on the same day of admission. The cause for death was declared as cardiac arrest.  Tamiflu was administered to him.

Venkatesh succumbed to H1N1 influenza due to late admission to Kempagowda Institute if Medical Science.  Venkatesh, a resident of Sarjapur was admitted on August 24 and expired on the same day.  Associate Medical Officer Dr Ramachandra said Venkatesh came in late and had developed pneumonia,” he said.
