<div align="justify">Two persons died after rain pounded several parts of Maharashtra, including the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, where intermittent showers badly hit road traffic. <br /><br />The rain continued to hit Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha where Bhamragad and Chamorshi taluks witnessed flood-like situations on Wednesday.<br /><br />Heavy downpour triggered a landslide in Satara ghat and uprooted a tree in Parashuramghat that brought traffic to a crawl in the Mumbai-Goa highway, while boulders fell over the Monkey Hill railway station in the Khandala ghat region. <br /><br />Reports from Gadchiroli said a major part of the Alapalli-Bhamragad road was inundated and several villagers are out of contact. The neighbouring Chandrapur district, too, received heavy rainfall, while Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region adjoining Gadchiroli has also been pounded. <br />A woman was killed when water flooded a basement of an under-construction building in Nagpur, and a farmer drowned in floods in Sangli district. <br /><br />Rain lashing Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts in the Konkan region increased water levels in the Savitri and Amba rivers. <br /><br />Heavy downpour also continued in the Koyna catchment area and Mahabaleshwar – the origin of the Krishna river – along with other parts of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts.
