Rs 500 fine for littering Railways premises

The Railways has decided to impose a fine of up to Rs 500 for littering its premises. It has issued a notification to this effect and framed rules as well. 

The notification stated that no person should litter the Railways premises by way of cooking, bathing, spitting, urinating, defecating, feeding animals or birds, repairing or washing vehicles, cleaning utensils and clothes,  on any railway premises except facilities earmarked for such purposes.  Putting up posters and writing on the walls were also prohibited.
