<p>Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday clarified that Navjot Singh Sidhu’s decision to join the Congress was unconditional, with no strings attached. <br /><br /></p>.<p>On having a deputy chief minister in the state, he asserted that the decision would be taken by the Congress president and the vice president at the appropriate time.<br /><br />Capt Amarinder said Sidhu would be the party’s candidate for Amritsar East as announced by the latter’s wife. <br /><br />The delay in joining the party was on account of his professional commitments, which he wanted to complete before getting into election gear, he said.<br /><br />“Sidhu will be joining soon,” he said.</p>
