<p>Hyderabad: Actor <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/telangana/allu-arjun-arrested-in-hyderabad-over-pushpa-2-stampede-3316253">Allu Arjun's arrest</a> has led to a political slugfest in Telangana as opposition BRS and BJP leaders condemned the police action. Chief minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/revanth-reddy">A Revanth Reddy</a>, however, said that he will not interfere in the case and the law will take its own course.</p>.<p>BRS working president K T Rama Rao condemning the actor's arrest said, “The arrest of national award-winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of the insecurity of the rulers. I totally sympathise with the victims of the stampede, but who failed really? Treating Allu Arjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for, especially for something he isn’t directly responsible for."</p><p>In a post on X, K T Rama Rao also added, "There is always space for respect and dignified conduct. I strongly condemn the high-handed behaviour of the government. Moreover the onus and responsibility of law and order lies with the police authorities and the arrest clearly intends to target an individual," Kishan Reddy said adding that, "The arrest also reminds us of the targeting and witch-hunting of cine artists in the state. I condemn the arrest and high-handedness of the administration."</p><p>YSRCP supremo and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy also condemned the arrest.</p><p>Bandi Sanjay took to X and said in a post, “National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun, lifted straight from his bedroom without even being given time to change, is a disgraceful act of mismanagement and disrespect. A star of his stature, who brought global recognition to Indian cinema, deserved better treatment."</p><p>"The tragic death of a woman in the stampede at Sandhya theatre is deeply unfortunate, but it only underscores the Congress government’s failure to manage the massive crowd. After the phenomenal success of Pushpa: The Rise, fans had high hopes for Pushpa: The Rule, and the massive turnout was expected given his popularity. The real failure lies in the Congress government’s inability to ensure proper arrangements for such a high-profile event. This negligence and mishandling are unacceptable. Icon Star and his fans deserve dignity, not chaos," his post further read.</p><p>Incidentally, at the success meet of Pushpa 2 movie recently while thanking the government for all support and allowing extra shows and to hike the ticket prices, Allu Arjun visibly fumbled as he could not recollect CM Revanth Reddy's name and the video went viral.</p>.<p><strong>CM Revanth Reddy defends Allu Arjun's arrest</strong></p>.<p>Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy defended the police action against Allu Arjun. During a meeting organised by a TV channel in Delhi, Revanth Reddy asserted that the law and constitution should apply to everyone equally, and he stated that there would have been no issues if the actor had simply watched the movie and left.</p><p>"Our government gave permission to increase the benefit show tickets for the movie from Rs 300 to Rs 1300. Allu Arjun didn’t simply watch the film and leave. He came out from the car’s sunroof, cheering and greeting fans who were celebrating his movie’s release. This situation spiraled out of control, resulting in a woman's death, while her son continued to battle for his life in the hospital. I will be questioned if we have not booked him,” said Revanth Reddy.</p><p>He also reminded that Arjun's uncle, Chiranjeevi, and his father-in-law, Chandrasekhar Reddy, are both members of the Congress party. He also added that Allu Arjun's wife is his relative. Despite this, the CMasserted that the police were allowed to do their duties.</p>
