<p>The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday virtually trashed Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s remarks that the Pakistan spy agency ISI was in touch with Muslim youngsters, whose families were displaced during the recent communal riots at Muzaffarnagar, saying that it had no such ‘inputs’ from intelligence agencies.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“We have no inputs about ISI being active in Muzaffarnagar”, a senior government official here said.<br /><br />The home department officials said that the district administration in Muzaffarnagar was taking all precautions to thwart the designs of the anti-national elements.<br /><br />Rahul’s remarks triggered a huge controversy with the Muslim clerics and the Samajwadi Party (SP) sharply condemning it.<br /><br />“Rahul is speaking like the leaders of a communal party...his remarks have hurt the riot victims as well as every patriotic Muslim in the country”, said senior cleric Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangimahali here.<br /><br />Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadique also decried the remarks saying that the Muslims living in India loved their country and were patriotic.<br /><br />Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan denounced the remarks saying that Rahul must make the names of the youths, who were in touch with the ISI, public. “He should reveal the names. We will take action”, Khan said.<br /></p>
