Junior Vishnuvaradhan's operation: artists to perform

Sandalwood’s ‘Junior Puneet’, ‘Junior Upendra’, and Junior of Bollywood Super Star ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ will perform on February 26, at the ‘Samskruthi Bhavan’ at New Cotton Market in Hubballi from 6:30 pm onwards, to generate funds to help ‘Junior Vishnuvardhan’ to get his heart operated.

M D Ali, also known among artists as 'Junior Vishnuvardhan', is suffering from 80% heart blocks, and an enlarged heart. He requires at least Rs three lakh to get operated.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Ali said, “there were organisations and individuals who were willing to pay for the operations. But, that is not how I wish to get treatment. I wish to perform and get funds for the treatment,” he said, and added that his co-artists have extended their helping hand to generate the required funds by performing their acts, and presenting an orchestra, organised by Vishnu Music & Dance Troupe.

Ali said, he has acted in more than 30 movies in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and other languages. He has also performed in movies starting Vishnuvardhan, Rajanikant, Puneeth, Shivaraj Kumar, Upendra, and others.

He said, for the last two years he has been circling around ministers and government departments requesting funds for getting operated. “However, none of them have come forward to help me,” he said, and added that even the film chamber did not show much concern towards him, and offered only Rs 5,000 in this regard.

The funds thus generated by selling of tickets for the show will be utilised for my operations, after deducting remunerations to the artists and payment of Rs 5,000 for the Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagara Palike (HDMP) for renting the Samskrithi Bhavan at a concession rate.
