Kodava students concerned about their families

The students, who are natives of Kodagu district and are studying in various educational institutions in the city, have expressed concern about the safety of their family members in Kodagu as they have lost communication with them.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the students said they are pining to get back to their families.

St Aloysius College student Karan Muttanna said that he had spoken to his parents two days earlier. He said he could not speak to them later. It is known from the friends in Kodagu that they are safe, he added.

Another student Ganagangamma said that her parents managed to speak to her with the help of their neighbours by recharging their mobile phones in their car.

Students' organisation honourary advisor S P Changappa said that necessary items for Kodagu flood victims will be collected at SDM Law College. The people can hand over blankets, first aid kits, mosquito repellents and other things, he added.
