Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday likened BJP leaders led by Prime Minister Modi to Mahabharat’s Duryodhan who suffered ego and false pride.

Addressing a public rally in Haryana’s Ambala this afternoon, Priyanka Gandhi said this country had no place for such vices of “Ahankar” (ego) and “gamand” (false pride).

“In the Mahabharata, this ahankar was in Duryodhan. When Lord Krishan went to him to show the truth, he even attempted to arrest him,” she said while narrating a couplet from one of the works of acclaimed Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar that talks about the mind first getting distorted before destruction.

Priyanka Gandhi said the BJP was seeking votes by insulting members of her family who attained martyrdom.

“BJP candidates are not talking about issues of the people but are raising other issues and seeking votes in the name of martyrs or by insulting her family,” she said.
