B U Prasanna, who had posted derogatory remarks on Siddaganga Mutt Tumkuru seer Sri Shivakumara Swami, has apologised.

However, he claimed that some miscreants who got access to his Facebook account had posted the comments.

Prasanna had allegedly posted disrespectful comments on the seer, on his Facebook wall. He has been maintaining a Facebook account with the name ‘Manish Manikantha’.

Prasanna from Bettadalli village spoke to reporters on Wednesday and said that he is working as a driver in KSRTC, Madikeri.

He alleged that when he had gone out of Somwarpet bus shelter’s restroom, keeping his mobile phone for charging, some miscreants gained entry into the restroom and opened his Facebook account to post the derogatory comments against the seer.

The incident came to his notice after two days and soon after knowing about the same, he has deleted the post, he said.

He respects Shivakumara Swami and is a staunch follower of the seer, said Prasanna.

“If anyone is hurt by the disrespectful remarks, I seek an apology,” he added.

SC/ST leader Honnappa, B R Uttaiah and S R Basavaraju were present in the press meet.
