Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar has lent his voice to ‘Amoli: Priceless’, the country’s first digital documentary based on commercial sexual exploitation of children. The film is scheduled to release on May 7 on YouTube and Facebook.

Produced by Culture Machine and directed by award-winning filmmakers Jasmine Kaur Roy and Avinash Roy, the documentary exposes the business of child sexual exploitation. Through strong visuals and a gripping narrative, the film urges the powers-that-be to come up with stronger legislation to prevent the sexual exploitation of children. The music by Tajdar Junaid adds strength to the film.

The documentary has been strung together through stories of survivors who have been through the horrors of commercial sexual exploitation. Since it is a sensitive subject, the directors decided to talk to only those survivors who were willing to share their experiences and were comfortable with the idea of what the filmmakers wanted to weave into the narrative.

The film is about these brave hearts and their stories. Sharing his experience of lending a voice-over, Puneeth told Metrolife, “I was moved by the film and I am thoroughly convinced about the subject. I strongly feel that children must be protected from all kinds of exploitation. They are the future and we must do everything that we can to make sure that they safe.” The actor also said that this film was relevant to our times. “The film has captured stories that are strong and moving and it is my privilege to be associated with something as pertinent and real as this film,” adds Puneeth.
