Bike-borne miscreants attacked Bajrang Dal Gurpura convener Harish Shetty at Gurpura Kaikamba on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Monday night.
According to City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, when Harish Shetty was riding his two-wheeler, miscreants attacked him with lethal weapons from behind at around 7.30 pm and fled the spot.
The injured Shetty has been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Suresh and DCP (Crime) Uma Prashanth inspected to the spot.
