Movable assets of Shiroor Mutt to be handed over

Udupi police are likely to hand over the movable assets of Shiroor Mutt in Udupi to the Dwandwa Sode Mutt on August 1.

The Shiroor Mutt in Udupi and the original Mutt in Shiroor have been cordoned off by the police following the suspicious death of Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivaratheertha Swami on July 19.

The movable assets at Shiroor Mutt in Udupi comprise pooja materials, silver and gold ornaments.

Since no successor has been appointed to the Shiroor Mutt, the Dwandwa Sode Mutt will look into the administration of the Shiroor Mutt, till a successor has been appointed.

As the original Mutt has been cordoned off by the police, the scheduled Aaradhane of the Shiroor seer was not held at Shiroor on Tuesday. Oil lamps were lit and theertha was sprinkled on the Vrindavana of the late seer.
