AIADMK MLA dies of cardiac arrest

Ruling AIADMK MLA A K Bose from Thiruparankundram Assembly Constituency in Madurai died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Thursday.

Bose (69) was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly in November 2016 in the by-election that was necessitated due to the death of his predecessor S M Seenivel, who died within days of being elected as a legislator in the May 2016 Assembly polls.

Bose, a three-time MLA, had been unwell for the last few years and was admitted to a private hospital on Wednesday evening. Bose, who is survived by his wife Baghyalakshmi, two sons and two daughters, breathed his last at around 1 am on Thursday.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam condoled Bose's death. They will fly down to Madurai to pay homage in the evening.
