Baby girl buried alive by parents in Andhra village rescued

The incident happened at a remote village of Kamakkapalli in the district, sources said.

The baby girl was born at a local hospital with a congenital abnormality. Her mother then forced the doctor to discharge her on the following day and went home and buried the baby alive.

However, as luck would have it, a shepherd woman found the girl who was half-buried in the sand and carried her to the village and informed the neighbours when the whole episode came to light, sources said.

The parents of the child were identified as Latha and Sekhar and the baby is their first child. The child was admitted to hospital and the parents have accepted her. No case of crime was so far registered with the police.
