This has resulted in an increase in water flow in Hogenakkal and immersed the pathway to water falls. Hence tourists have been ordered not to take bath in water falls and the River Cauvery also, he said.
He said teams from the Revenue, Development, Forest, Police and Fire and Rescue Services department had been deployed to monitor the situation. Coracle operation and fishing also been banned.
PWD sources said the water flow in Cauvery has been recorded by Center Water Commission Gauge Center at Biligundalu in Karnataka forest border at 40,000 cusecs.
A special police patrol has been posted in seval places in Hogenakall to avert any untoward incidents, police said.
