UP grand alliance-RLD demands five seats, offered two

Last Updated 11 January 2019, 15:22 IST

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) appeared to be miffed by the offer of only two seats by Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati in their grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the RLD sources, the party which wielded considerable influence over the 'Jat' voters in western region of the state, had demanded five seats.

''We have been offered only two seats,'' said a senior RLD leader in Lucknow while speaking to DH.

RLD president Ajit Singh also gave vent to his annoyance, when asked about the proposed joint presser of Akhilesh and Mayawati in Lucknow on Saturday saying that he had no ''knowledge'' about the same.

He said that the seat sharing formula was yet to be finalised.
