Husband axes wife to death as she wanted to visit her parents

In a bizarre incident, a 45-year-old woman was purportedly axed to death by her husband, after a fight over wanting to visit her parents. The incident took place at Kherkheda village in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district.

According to the police, Guddi Kanwar Rajput was sleeping in her room along with her two daughters when her husband killed her with an axe on Thursday early hours. The accused identified as 48-year-old Chain Singh is missing.

The victim's husband was unhappy with her over her wish to visit her parents, said investigating officer Islam Ali.

"The initial investigation reveals that on Wednesday night the couple had a scuffle as the woman insisted on going to her parents' home, but the husband did not give her permission. They called off the argument and went to bed peacefully after the meal. But her husband had not moved on after the argument which is why he entered into her room with an axe and attacked her", he said.

The police are searching for the man. A sharp weapon has been recovered from the site. Post-mortem of the body was conducted and a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC.
