Telangana crusader turned Chief Minister K Chandrseakhar Rao and his entire party members will turn into coolies (labourers) to earn and meet expenses for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party foundation day celebrations to be held in Warangal on 27 April on a grand scale.

KCR has donned the role of a coolie during the decade long agitation for separate Telangana state to meet expenses of a prolonged battle.

Declaring 14 April to 20 April as “Pink (party colour) Coolie Days,” the Chief Minister has said that he would take up work for two days most probably in Torrur that falls under the constituency of Errabelly Dayakar Rao in Warangal.

“I will take up work on two days and I would like all the 75 lakh party members to take up work and collect funds for the function,” KCR said at his camp office. He said that party workers can choose any work in their respective areas such as agriculture work and manual labour. The funds collected will be used for travel and food expenses.  “This has been our tradition and we will follow it whether in power or not,” KCR added.

“The effort is to bring in all the party workers together in the name of labour for party fund. We want keep the fervor alive that was present at the time of agitation, this time for the party function which will be organized line never before,” state power Minister Jagadeeswar Reddy said.

As per party sources, TRS would be in the top three parties in the country which has a membership of 75 lakhs for a population of only 3.5 cr and collected Rs 25 cr as membership fee. The party will also have its plenary on 21 April in Kompally, where KCR will be re-elected as Party president, which is a mere formality. He was the president of the party since its inception in 2001.
