The accused identified as Suresh Koli doused Rita Parmar (25), who was accompanied by Meera Meher (11), with kerosene and set her afire while she was on her way to buying milk as she had rejected his advances, they said.
Koli then set Meher ablaze as well as she had seen him commit the crime, police said. The duo were rushed to district Civil hospital where Meher succumbed to her injuries, they said. Koli, however, managed to flee from the spot and is still absconding, they added.
