Mother kills 6-year-old son by stabbing 20 times

In a bizarre incident, a mother stabbed her 6-year-old-son with a dagger nearly 20 times, causing his instantaneous death.

The body of the minor boy lay in a pool of blood with his intestines jutting out on the floor of the bathroom, where the mother killed him. The incident took place in Punjab’s Bathinda.

The mother purportedly got furious after her son, Harkirat Singh aka Havvy, was reluctant to take a bath. She lost her cool when her son started to cry. According to sources, the accused mother, Rajvir Kaur, first stuffed a piece of towel in her son’s mouth to prevent him from creating a ruckus. She then ruthlessly started to stab him with a dagger. She did this nearly 20 times before she got exhausted and stopped. Kaur then walked out of the bathroom and informed other family members that she had stabbed Havvy.

Parminder Singh, a real estate consultant and father of the deceased boy, along with the grandfather of the minor, was preparing to go out on an outing on Sunday. They had asked Havvy to get ready for a fun-filled outing. The duo said they were washing the car parked outside when the incident took place inside the bathroom. The police are investigating if the mother had any history of unsound behaviour, which may have led to this bizarre step. Kaur possesses a post-graduate degree, said sources.

The couple have been married for 10 years. The husband-wife duo had prayed for a child for years before Havvy was born. The family is in a state of shock and mourning. It is still not known why the mother killed her son. Havvy, the family said, studied in Class 1 in a public school in the area. He was a bright student. Kaur is currently in police custody.
