It was after the 1968-69 Assembly polls that the Election Commission suggested that parties should file their poll expenses.
However, the Joint Committee of Parliament on amendments of election law did not accept it then.
No good ground has been adduced by the Committee for not accepting this highly valuable recommendation, the EC had then said.
