Unidentified miscreants shot at and injured BJP legislator Yogesh Verma during Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district, about 150 kilometres from here, on Thursday.
According to the police sources here, one of the miscreants, who first greeted the MLA on the occasion of Holi and then suddenly fired at him. Verma was hit in the legs.
The MLA was rushed to the hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger. Police said that a case was registered and investigations were on.
In 2017 also Verma had been fired upon but had escaped unhurt. The legislator had then alleged that the mining mafia were behind the attack.
