The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun poll preparations in Madhya Pradesh with president J P Nadda inaugurating a 10-storied office of the party at Bhopal, listening to PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat with workers, and addressing a booth adhyaksh sammelan. Nadda said that the party will cross 200 seats in the upcoming assembly elections and asked workers to intensify their efforts.

At Bhopal’s Deen Dayal Parisar, Nadda, accompanied by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP president V D Sharma, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Prahlad Patel, as well as national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, and state party incharge Murlidhar Rao, performed a bhoomi puja of the building, which is set to cost Rs 100 crore. The new building, spread across ten storeys, will have an auditorium with a sitting capacity of 1,000 people.

Addressing workers, Nadda said that the party will come back to power with a majority. “The warm welcome accorded to me by the spirited BJP cadre shows we are going to win more than 200 Assembly seats in MP,” Nadda said. The BJP, which was in power in the state from 2005 to 2018, lost the 2018 assembly elections. But then Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the BJP with a breakaway faction to form the government in 2020.

In his address, Nadda spoke about key schemes of the Shivraj Singh government for women and youth. “The government has started the Ladli Behna Yojana, under which women whose annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh are being given Rs 1,000 every month. Under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Kaushal Earning Scheme for the youth, financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per month will be given to the youth in the state and training will also be given,” Nadda said.

The elections to the 230-member assembly in Madhya Pradesh is set to take place in November this year.
