The O P Jindal Global University (JGU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Wollongong (UoW), Australia, for a strategic partnership through which students and faculty members from each university may spend some time at the other in short or longer term exchange programmes.

“This partnership specifically allows the JGU and the UoW students to undertake student exchange opportunities at the other institution,” the JGU said in a statement.

For the faculty members and researchers at both universities, the partnership allows for joint research and teaching while also encouraging collaboration in international publications, it added.

“As the youngest Indian university to break into the QS Asia and QS BRICS rankings, the signing of the memorandum of understanding reflects the JGU’s genuine commitment to fostering partnerships of mutually beneficial value with leading global universities,” JGU vice chancellor C Raj Kumar said.

The JGU students will have “the unique opportunity” to learn at the UoW which is “one of the best modern higher education institutions” ranked within the top 250 global universities, he added.

UoW Vice-Chancellor Paul Wellings said, “We view this partnership as a strategic development to help us, within a higher education context, further strengthen the social, cultural and economic links between Australia and India.”
