VHP plans to recruit 25K workers for Ram Mandir work

Last Updated 13 November 2018, 17:12 IST

Upping the ante, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Saturday announced that it would recruit 25,000 workers, who would be ready to march to Ayodhya on the direction of saints, for building the Ram Temple.

VHP will also hold simultaneous ‘dharm sabhas’ (religious meets) of leading seers of the country at Ayodhya, Bengaluru and Nagpur later this month to exert pressure on the BJP-led NDA government to bring in a legislation in Parliament for Ram Temple construction.

‘’Twenty-five thousand Bajrang Dal sainiks will be recruited in the Avadh (central UP) region.....they will be given trishul deeksha (trident consecration) and will take a pledge for the Ram Temple and will be ready to march to Ayodhya on the direction of the saints,’’ senior VHP leader Bholendra said here.

Besides, he said that ‘dharm sabhas’ would be held in all the districts of the country later this month to solicit the support of the people on this issue. ‘’A grand dharm sabha will also be organised in Delhi on December 9 this year,’’ he said.

He said the seers would also meet Lok Sabha members from all the constituencies in the country and seek their cooperation for the temple construction.

The VHP leader said that the Supreme Court’s decision to defer the hearing of the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid Title suits had ‘’hurt’’ the Hindu community.

‘’The issue of Ram Temple is a matter of faith for millions of Hindus...now all the options to resolve the issue are over...there is only one option and that is to make a law for Ram Temple construction,’’ Bholendra said.
