Trinamool Congress MP Sugata Bose on Wednesday said both the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Communists had no role in the nation’s struggle for independence from colonial rule.
Trinamool Congress, which had so far been largely reticent about the recent turmoil in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), deployed Bose to speak on its behalf during the debate on the issue in the Lok Sabha.
Bose accused the BJP-led NDA Government of being “heartless” in dealing with the students and said the situation in JNU should have been handled with sensitivity, as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dealt with a similar stir in Jadavpur University.
