On a day of fast-paced political developments in Jammu and Kashmir, separatist-turned-BJP ally Sajjad Lone prodded PDP president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to approach the court to revive the dissolved assembly if she feels upset over the dissolution.

“If @MehboobaMufti feels slighted y doesn’t she go to court. Let her approach the court and hopefully get an order to revive assembly—- and we hopefully will prove we have the numbers, on the floor of the assembly (sic),” Lone tweeted.

To counter the PDP-NC-Congress alliance, Peoples' Conference (JKPC) chairman Sajjad had also staked claim to form the government in the state with support from the BJP on Tuesday. Earlier, Mehbooba had also staked claim to form the government with support from rival National Conference and Congress.

In another sarcastic tweet aimed at Mehbooba and NC leader Omar Abdullah, the PC chairman Lone said, “Uncles and aunties yet again came to their (PDP-NC) rescue. Inshallah more exciting days ahead.”
