A 50-year-old man from Rahimkhanpet of Yadadri district in Telangana, who was working as a Quick Fill store manager in Florida, was shot dead on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kotha Govardhan Reddy. The incident occurred while Reddy, who had moved to Florida seven years ago in search of livelihood, was closing down the store.

The Pensacola police arrested Efidarius Gemeateus Bryant, 29; Keandra Martez Smith, 23; and Crystal Elaine Clausell, 34, with the help of CCTV footage available at the store. They were sent to county jail.

According to Reddy’s family in Uppal, he was planning to return to India soon and start some business here with the money he saved by working in that country.

“He did his schooling in Rahimkhanpet and completed his degree in Hyderabad. After burning hands in several small businesses he moved to the USA with the help of his friends,” a family member rued.

Reddy’s wife Sobharani and two daughters Sriya and Tulasi are in a state of shock. “We came to know about the incident only on Wednesday night,” Reddy’s father Narsimha Reddy said. He urged the state government to help in bringing the remains of Reddy to his native place for his last rites.
