Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh on Tuesday said that if Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants do not leave India respectfully, they should be shot dead.
"If these Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants do not leave India respectfully, then they should be shot and eliminated. Then only our country will be safe," Singh was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The statement comes at a time when there is growing anxiety among people in Assam where National Register of Citizens draft list has left over 40 lakh people.
On Monday, Raja Singh had said that incidents of lynching will not stop till the time cow gets the status of "Rashtra Mata" amid the outrage over the killing of a Muslim man over suspicion of being a cow smuggler in Alwar.
