Uttarakhand floods highlights: Rescue work resumes in Tapovan tunnel; death toll climbs to 35

The rescue operation was resumed in Chamoli district after it was briefly halted due to a rise in the level of water in Rishiganga river. Rescuers had launched a drilling operation today at the Tapovan tunnel, where an estimated 30-35 people have been trapped since a flash flood battered various villages and hydro-power projects in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, claiming 35 lives, while about 204 people are still missing.
