West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said that after the government at the Centre changes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections a new policy to boost Indian industry will be implemented.

Her speech during the first day of the Bengal Global Business Summit was full of political overtones, apart from a long list of her government's achievements in relation to the industry in the last seven years.

"I know the problems you (industrialists) are facing. But I can assure you that after changing the government we will introduce policies that will boost the Indian industry and the Indian economy," said Banerjee.

Pointing out that the Lok Sabha elections are just a few months away, Banerjee urged all industrialists who have left the country to return and invest in India.

"We have to face the central election (Lok Sabha elections) within a couple of months...The friends from the industry who have left the country, I request them to come back and invest in India," said Banerjee.

Taking a dig at the erstwhile Left Front government, she alleged that Bengal suffered due to the loss of man-days during the Left era. Banerjee claimed that during the tenure of her government that issue has been resolved.
