State government employees, held a blood donation camp at Mini Town Hall in Mangaluru on Wednesday, to protest against the new National Pension Scheme (NPS). They demanded the reintroduction of the old pension scheme.
Karnataka State Government NPS Employees Union (Bengaluru) led the protest.
They raised slogans like 'Rakta kottevu; pinchani bidevu' (We will shed blood; but not give up pension).
They protested against the loopholes in NPS, and noted that the scheme does not provide security at the time of superannuation.
