Public entry to Jodupala banned

District In-charge Minister U T Khader said that the entry of public to Jodupala affected area is prohibited.

The visit of a large number of people to Jodupala, where a massive landslide caused devastation, is hampering the rescue operation. People visiting the gruel centres inconveniencing the affected people. Hence, all the rescue teams along with the government employees will be issued passes to visit Jodupala.

The minister along with DC Sasikanth Senthil visited the people who have taken shelter at Sampaje in Sullia taluk.

He said the airlifting operations are likely to commence near Jodupala to check if people are caught in the hilly ranges. The people lodged at the gruel centres will be counselled by experts on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the district administration has opened a disaster management cell to receive complaints on flood and other rain-related havocs. The people can dial 1077.
