Rahul flags off Jungle Satyagrah in Chhattisgarh

Congress president Rahul Gandhi assigned Chhattisgarh Tribal Congress state president and Sitapur MLA Amarjeet Singh Bhagat to commence the state-wide drive Jungle Satyagrah after the inauguration of the newly constructed Congress State office, ‘Rajiv Bhawan’ on Friday in Raipur

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupesh Baghel announced that the drive would be now held in all the 27 districts of state where the Tribal Congress leaders would be meeting the tribal communities in their respective districts.

As per the programme by Tribal Congress, the month-long movement would mark the meetings at the village level to block level where the tribal communities would be briefed on their constitutional rights, PESA Act, Forest Rights, Forest Land title rights among other core issues related to the tribal communities.

During this drive, those left out of the forest land title, their forms would be filled. The Congress would assure them that if they form the government, they would be provided the forest land rights through title. One of the office-bearers said that pamphlets regarding the programme were distributed among the party leaders and grass-root level workers. With this, the programme would now shift to the districts.
