Sites to nomadic community near Nagalapura

A decision has been taken to submit a proposal to deputy commissioner to reserve one acre in Survey Number 179 government land in Nagalapura Gram Panchayat jurisdiction for nomadic community members who have left Seeguvani village following advice from an astrologer.

Most of the people in the community belong to Scheduled Castes and the Social Welfare Department has decided to provide basic facilities to them. Accordingly, sites will be given to them.

A team, led by Deputy Director of the department
B Mallikarjun, Tahsildar Gopinath, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Prakash Vaddar, inspected the government land earmarked for the purpose.

Mallikarjun said a proposal will be submitted to the deputy commissioner through the tahsildar to sanction land to make sites for the Scheduled Caste members in the nomadic community.

Vaddar said they should be allowed to stay temporarily at a closed government school at Southern in the taluk. A letter has been written to the deputy commissioner in this regard, he added.

Assistant Director of the department Dhananjaya, Taluk Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman M N Nagesh, Member Prema, Dharmaraj of Backward Classes Department, Revenue Inspector Vishwanath, Nagalapura Panchayat Development Officer K D Joseph and Forest Department officials were among those present on the occasion.
