Set a festive table

It’s the season to celebrate. Family and friends come together. Here are some tips to set an attractive and inviting table to host some memorable get-togethers.

Start with a cheerful tablecloth. Festive colours of gold, green and red are perfect for this time of the year.

Add a table runner that goes well with the tablecloth. If it is a printed tablecloth, select a plain table runner in a complementary colour. Usually, the table runner and place mats are a set.

Arrange the place mats according to the number of guests you have. The same goes for napkins as well. To give a luxurious look, ensure that the fabric is of premium quality and with a bright design. For a festive touch, have a vase with fresh flowers or bowl with glitter objects at the center of the table. Make sure the vase of flowers does not obscure the view across the table. If you wish to have candles, either have a tall candelabra with colourful candles or small tea light candles in brass holders.

Select plates and cutlery that are subtle, yet grand. Plain plates with gold trim add a regal touch. You could opt for silver plates and cutlery for a special meal.
