Cricket Mania Contest: An evening to remember

Celebrations were in order as winners of the ICC T20 World Cup Cricket Mania contest, organised by Deccan Herald and Prajavani, in association with State Bank of Mysore, received their prizes at a colourful ceremony here on Thursday.

Manohar, from Hospete, received the bumper prize -- a holiday package in Goa -- from the chief guest, Karnataka wicket-keeper-batsman CM Gautam.

“I am very happy,” said Manohar. “I participated in the contest last time also, but won the consolation prize.”

Shruti N, Gowtham and Pattabu Raman received the first prize -- a Gold Voucher worth Rs 15,000 -- from SBM’s General Manager MR Jayesh.

The second prize -- a tab -- was bagged by Umesh, Kariappa and Mohan Rao while the third prize -- A Wet Grinder -- was won by Varshani, Kanchana and Shekhar Basappa.

The contest, into its fifth year, witnessed great response from the readers, with more than 10,000 entries pouring in from across Karnataka. Of them about 4000 had correct answers. 80 ended winners.
