With the Asia Cup 2025 set to begin on September 9 in the UAE, several top Indian players may be sidelined. The T20I-format tournament will run through September 28 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Yashasvi Jaiswal: Yashasvi is likely to lose his Asia Cup 2025 spot to Abhishek Sharma, the current No. 1 T20I batter.

Sai Sudarshan: Despite winning the Orange Cap in IPL 2025, Sai Sudharsan faces tough competition from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Shubman Gill, making his Asia Cup selection unlikely.

KL Rahul: Despite strong performances in ODIs and Tests, K L Rahul hasn’t broken into the T20I XI since his last appearance in November 2022.

Shreyas Iyer: Though Shreyas was earlier considered for the Asia Cup 2025, the middle-order batter is unlikely to be picked for the tournament.
