Mithali 1st Indian eve to best T20I male runs

Mithali's record follows an impressive match against Ireland, where the Indian women's team scored a comfortable win against Ireland.

After leading India to a comfortable 7-wicket-win over Pakistan in the ICC Women's World T20, Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj has added another accolade to her record: Becoming the first Indian player with more T20i runs than any male player on record.

Driven by her excellent 56-run record, Mithali surpassed New Zealand's Martin Guptill, who held the record for the highest runs among the male players at 2271 runs. Mithali now has 2283 runs to her name.

However, she is not quite the top scorer yet: Mithali sits well behind the records of England's Charlotte Edwards, who has 2605 runs, West Indies' Stefanie Taylor, who has 2691 runs and New Zealand's Suzie Bates, who holds the pole position with 2996 runs.

Mithali's record follows an impressive match against Ireland, where the Indian women's team scored a comfortable win against Ireland. Mithali herself scored another half-century, getting 67 runs.
