Gurjot swings into lead with a four-under in second round

Gurjot Badwal produced a fine performance to seize the lead but in-form Sifat Sagoo stayed within touching distance in the second and penultimate round of the IGU Southern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship on Wednesday.

Punjab’s Gurjot, who opened with a poor 74, found her range with a sparkling four-under 67 to take sole lead with a total of 141 at the Clover Greens Golf Club in Hosur. Haryana’s Diksha Dagar matched Gurjot’s card of the day to lie second, one shot behind while Sifat, competing in Category A, was third at 143 following a 74.

Leading scores (after 36 holes): Ladies: 141: Gurjot Badwal (74, 67); 142: Diksha Dagar (75, 67); 143: Sifat Sagoo (69, 74).

Category A (15-17 years): 142: Diksha Dagar; 143: Sifat Sagoo; 145: Arshia Manhant (75, 70).

Category B (13-14): 144: Pranavi S Urs (74, 70); 145: Rhea Purvi Saravanan (70, 75); 146: Nayanika Sanga (77, 69).

Category C (11-12): 146: Rashmi S (74, 72); 153: Agrima Manral (75, 78), Hunar Mittal (80, 73).
