Faced with a must-win situation in the fourth match of the five-match ODI series, Pakistan registered a nervy three-wicket win over South Africa at Kingsmead here on Thursday.
Coming into this match, Pakistan were trailing 1-2 and their pace bowlers -- Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan -- shared six wickets among them equally as the visitors resitcted South Africa to a manageable 234 for nine in 50 overs.
Skipper AB de Villiers (75) and David Miller (67) slammed fifties, but their efforts were not enough to give South Africa a total that could challenge Pakistan meaningfully.
Imran Farhat (93) and slkipper Misbah-ul-Haq (80) played mature hands as Pakistan overcame early jitters.
