Karun Nair slammed a brilliant century to help Karnataka gain a lead of 62 runs at tea against Vidarbha on the second day of the Ranji Trophy semifinal on Monday.
Karnataka resumed the day from 36/3 and played out a good first session, where they added 124 runs for the loss one wicket. But the eight-time champions lost their way in the second session in which they lost four quick wickets. Rajneesh Gurbani troubled the Karnataka lower order and completed a five-wicket haul.
Karun hung on firm at one end and scored his third ton of the season. The right hand batsman was unbeaten on 118 in the company of captain R Vinay Kumar (6) as Karnataka had reached 247/8.
